Pre-veg days Spaghetti & Meatballs were a huge favorite of my big family. Today we do it right with whole wheat pasta, organic pasta sauce and some delicious tofu balls. My five kids give these five stars!
Fantastic recipe from Post Punk Kitchen..
- 1 lb. extra firm tofu
- 1 small very finely chopped onion
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons peanut butter (I use almond butter)
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- A few pinches fresh basil or oregano (I use both!)
- Flour for rolling balls in
- Oil to pan-fry in
Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Roll into 1 1/2 inch balls. Roll in flour and fry in preheated skillet, cooking until slightly to medium brown on all sides.

Do you think these could be baked? I always bake meatballs instead of pan frying.
Hi Linda,
Absolutely. Baking these would work. You may want to broil them as well for a few minutes when you’re finished just to get that crispy texture.
