Pecan Sunflower Burger

This is one of many amazing recipes we got from the Thrive Diet. 

1 cup raw pecans

½ cup sunflower seeds

2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

2 tbsp coconut oil or hemp oil

½ tsp chili flakes

¼ tsp cayenne pepper

Sea salt to taste

 Throw all these ingredients into a food processor and process well until the mixture sticks together. Form mixture into two patties and enjoy. There is no need to cook this “burger”. Coconut oil and hemp oil are better served in the raw form. Once headed above 300 degrees the oils turn to trans fat. Trust us – it is delicious in the raw form. 

 You can serve these several different ways. If you’d like the meal to be 100% raw, serve with a salad and enjoy. If you’re not worried about the meal being raw, you can spice it up a little and through it on a bun with some fries and that same side salad. Add your favorite burger condiments for a real treat.

This meal has become a staple in our menu. It’s also the perfect meal for long travel days. When Kara and I are flying somewhere we can through a couple of these in a tupperware dish and enjoy them on the plane with some veggies or pita chips.
